Beat Blog: National and Minnesotan Broadcasters to Follow

Television news stations tweet breaking news, teasers for feature programs, sports scores, and culture stories. Local stations and reporters also retweet their national affiliates and ask viewers questions pertaining to local culture, sports, and other goings on.  Following a variety of stations and reporters is a good way to get updates on local and national happenings in your twitter feed.

WCCO News

WCCO is a CBS affiliate in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  The station’s Twitter feed gives great updates on Minnesota news, politics, sports, weather, and culture.  The station also retweets important national and international news from the CBS News Twitter feed.

Tom Hauser

Tom Hauser is the head political reporter for KSTP-TV, an ABC affiliate station in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  Recently, his Twitter feed has been filled with updates on the proceedings of a new tax bill in the Minnesota House of Representatives.  His tweets can be factual and satirical.

Anderson Cooper

Anderson Cooper is the host of Anderson Cooper 360 on CNN.  His Twitter feed gives updates on what is going to be on his show as well as what is being covered on CNN.  His show on CNN analyzes news events and holds interviews with public figures and news makers.

Erin Burnett

Erin Burnett is the host of Erin Burnett OutFront on CNN.  Her Twitter feed gives followers information about what she will be covering on her show as well as what is on CNN.  Recently, her show has been covering analysis and updates on the Boston Bombings.
