Eugene, Ore.- The streets were lined with people this morning for the annual NAACP march, held in honor of Martin Luther King Jr.

The march took place from Autzen Stadium, and finished at the Shedd Institute where participants sat through performances by Danny Glover, Jeremy Rosado, and many more.

University of Oregon Sophomore Sierra Kaup participated for personal reasons, thinking that the march was cool.

“It was really fun to participate in such a unified event,” Kaup said.

The march was very peaceful as demonstrators walked the pre-determined route. There were dozens of police motorcycles that helped stop traffic, so the march could make it’s way through the streets of Eugene.

Amongst the particpants were people of all ages, including current college students, and young children excited at the chance to participate in such an event.

The events proceeding the march were free to the public.
