Students finding alternatives for campus commute

With the term officially begun, students at the University of Oregon are finding alternative ways to commute to campus this fall, in light of rising gas prices, parking frustration and general costs associated with the traditional drive.

Biking is the best way to get to campus, says Lee Ordonez, University student, sporting his riding attire. “Parking is horrible.” Fellow classmates Lily Lee and Cameron McCraw agree, both choosing to walk in place of any wheeled vehicle. Both live close enough to campus to warrant the walk and McCraw points out the benefits of walking for the environment.
