The Jefferson Westside Neighborhood (JWN) is located between W. 7th and 18th Avenues and between Chambers and Lawrence and Willamette Streets. This is a major residential neighborhood with some small businesses. Although it is next to the Downtown Area, it is still a quiet and nice area for living. Also, it is very easy to get access to the JWN – taking EMX and then walking a few blocks or taking the 76 from campus.
The First United Methodist Church is located on Olive Street, in between West 13th and 14thAvenues. This is the place that holds the JNW general meeting.
We turned on the West 17th Avenue and walked pass the restaurant Cornucopia with nice painting on the wall. And then we saw the
Charnel Mulligan Park on 17th Avenue and Charnelton Street.
The Lane County Historical Society and Museum is also on the West 13th Avenue. This is a good place for people to have a better cognition of Eugene.
Besides many residential houses in the JWN, there are some well-maintained apartment buildings like Willamette Towers and Lincoln School. Lincoln School was a historical school and had been re-modeled into condos.
The most popular bakeries in Eugene – the Sweet Life Patisserie is a part of the JWN as well. It is located on the intersection of West 7th Avenue and Monroe Street.
The Jefferson Westside Neighborhood is a wise choice for people who like quiet and relaxed living environment; especially it is the City-chartered neighborhood with plenty tress, grass and playgrounds. The businesses are harmonious with the entire neighborhood. The Jefferson Westside Neighborhood is seeking for a future residential and commercial development.
