I feel pretty good about the rough draft of my enterprise story, but this past week has been a bit rough for getting interviews from people.
I wanted a police officer perspective. I talked to an officer who was tabling at UO, went to the actual downtown Eugene police station, called the Monroe street substation, and called/emailed several officers, but they all either referred me to someone or else I reached their voicemail.
In addition, the River Road Elementary principal is still out due to surgery.
On a positive note, I was able to get a hold of Ambrose, a former Whiteaker Elementary student, and interview him further.
These next few days before the story is due I will be making a mad dash to attempt to contact valuable resources, and to go out and interview people in the Whiteaker neighborhood again.
This week has been a valuable lesson in the importance of perseverance.
