The Junior League of Eugene is an organization of “women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.” This group specifically donates numerous volunteer hours toward the needs of foster parents and children in Lane County. The Junior League “addresses the financial and social aspects of caring for foster children.”  This includes putting on many events and fundraising drives that foster parents may not be able to afford otherwise. They host numerous events, such as the annual Pumpkin Patch Party and the annual holiday party that approximately 650 foster family members attend. They also provide back-to-school backpacks every year filled with school supplies for nearly 200 students.

To get involved in the Junior League of Eugene, or even to donate to their many fundraisers, you can follow them on Twitter or check out their Facebook page. They can also be contacted at (541) 345-7370.
