Recent tweets from chief executive of Google hint that Google may be advertising during the Super Bowl. “Can’t wait to watch the Superbowl tomorrow. Be sure to watch the ads in the 3rd quarter,” Eric Schmidt tweeted. Google’s current ad market makes more money in advertising than any media organization in the world.
The New York Times article found multiple sources saying that Google will step into a new terrain of advertising this Sunday. Though there has been no official word from Google to confirm this. If an add is shown this Sunday there is the possibility of it sparking a whole new advertising market for Google.
What the ad may consist of could possibly be one of the “search stories” that have been shown online. A recent “search story” joking about Tiger Woods could air. Other say that the ad may be one of the series promoting the Chrome Browser or for the Nexus One.
We’ll have to wait until the 3rd quarter commercials to see if Google has transformed their way of advertising.
